Three years ago I started a personal project called The Bucket of Life to inspire and motivate myself through difficult times. The purpose of the project was to look at my goals, prioritize them and work towards achieving them. My motto – “dream it, live it, celebrate it”.
I published a blog about my experiences, discussing my failures and successes. I also created Pinterest boards to clip motivational photos, videos and articles. The incredible response from strangers who followed The Bucket of Life blog, was overwhelming. It was nice that others could identify with the information I was posting. I’m glad that while doing something to help myself through some challenges, I could (in a small way) inspire and encourage others.
After a year of making weekly posts, I wanted to meet role models in my community, who were actively chasing their dreams, learning from their failures and celebrating their successes. With the help of my sisters, I embarked on a mission in the summer of 2014, to document the stories of such people. That’s how Bucket Kickers was born. While publishing the 2nd issue, it became apparent that we had something special.
Despite being eager to publish the next few stories, we felt it was necessary to take a step back, in order to build a firm foundation for this project to flourish well. In the spirit of community, we believe that Bucket Kickers will benefit from adopting an interactive blogazine format, that will allow our audience to participate, learn and grow along with us. We felt that it merited having its own formal blog on WordPress. And so it shall! This project is currently in development.
Here are some of the inspirational stories of truly amazing people, we have lined-up:
